Senator Charles Grassley - (Iowa - R) - You have FAILED Our Nation and Our Great State of Iowa!

Senator Chuck Grassley, are you SERIOUS with this? Just how many bodies do you need to count in order to get this through the "process" required to save American lives? I am completely baffled by the quickness by which the US Congress will bend, break, even create new processes to give themselves a quick pay hike, get one of their favored nominees confirmed quickly, and let us not forget the every present "Nuclear Option" recently utilized when all of the above failed to get you what you wanted.

 I am appalled at your response to the Las Vegas killings (still not being called a domestic terrorist attack, hmmmm!) Do you realize that the number of individuals killed in Las Vegas is only slightly larger than the number of individuals in my graduating class at Highland High School in Riverside, Iowa? Does THAT mean anything to you and your fellow Members of Congress?

While we are at it, we may as well address your recent statement that you could give Americans ten good reasons that Affordable Care Act (Obama Care) should not be repealed.  However, none of the reasons you had for not repealing were good enough to overcome the ONE reason you gave for repealing healthcare coverage for millions of Americans - The fact that you and other Republicans have campaigned for years on repealing Obama Care.  Again - EPIC fail Senator!

Honestly, Senator Grassley, what does matter to you beyond an unending flow of cash into your campaign coffers? Senator, WHAT will it take to "move" Congress to address gun control (read - give up NRA and insurance company funding for your campaigns) and ensure that all Americans have access to adequate medical care outside of hospital emergency departments? Please feel free to post one of your boilerplate responses for my reader to see.  Show them just how concerned you are with the safety and health of Americans and Iowans specifically!  Want to see the video about this, if so check it out!

    A dose of Common Sense , from a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend: "If the Mandalay Bay hotel had caught fire and 58 people died and 500+ people were injured trying to escape, America would be having a discussion about how to make hotels safer. "If 58 people at the concert had died and 500+ people went to the hospital due to food poisoning, America would be having a conversation about how to make food safer. "If a gas tanker accident on I-15, the freeway that runs through Las Vegas, had killed 58 people and injured 500+, there would be demands to make our roads safer. "It is not 'political' to demand that lawmakers take steps to reduce deaths from gun violence any more than it is 'political' to demand better fire codes, stricter food inspections, and safer roads. "Think about and pray for the people of Las Vegas as much as you want or need. But then *do* something about it. Or at least vote for people who will."

After a few short days on the inpatient Psych bed waitlist, I simply could not take it anymore. Wait, allow me to back up a bit. . . A couple of weeks ago I had an appointment with my mental health practitioner. I wrote about all of the tears and thinking that resulted from that appointment right after the event (See Part I of this series on Depression, please). I also shared at that time that I was urged to allow myself to be immediately hospitalized for inpatient stabilization and medication adjustments as well as resuming intense therapy.
