Why: Iowa Senator Joni Ernst has received over 3 million dollars from the NRA and an A rating from them. Appeals from citizens for sensible gun safety legislation are routinely rejected by public servants like Senator Ernst. Therefore we are going to her in memory of those who have been lost due to the resistance of the NRA and politicians it owns.

.
On Thursday, Feb. 22 we are having a ***respectful peaceful and law-abiding*** silent funeral vigil outside of her Des Moines office, and invite people from across Iowa or in DC to do the same at her other offices. People who gather may consider peacefully taking turns going into her office to request staffers share with her the names of people who have been massacred as a result of the influence of the NRA.

The vigil is not a protest. It is public mourning. We are law-abiding, respectful and peaceful. No disrespectful signs or chanting, please.

We believe the NRA’s influence in the political system has put our nation into the situation we are facing with mass shootings. Politicians who have received this much money from the NRA have likewise brought us to a terrible place.
